Stanford product Andrew Luck is not a victim of the stereotypical generalization about an athlete's intelligence based on the college he or she attended. He really is bright — new Colts quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer reiterated that this week.
Let's hope Luck is as smart as Schottenheimer claims.
The issue at hand is the 26-year-old quarterback's ultra-competitive nature at such a venerable position. While head coach Chuck Pagano thinks Luck needs to stop playing "like a linebacker," Schottenheimer doesn't seem as concerned.
"We're not going to change the way Andrew plays,'' Schottenheimer told ESPN.
