David Ford may have just taken control of the Fred Haskins trophy at the tournament that bears the Player of the Year award's name.
Ford, a senior at North Carolina, birdied the first playoff hole to beat Illinois' Max Herendeen and win the 2025 Augusta Haskins Award Invite at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The duo finished at 12-under 204 over 54 holes of stroke play, and then Ford, the top-ranked player in the NCAA golf rankings, punctuated his fourth win of the season in style.
The Haskins Award is presented to the Player of the Year in men's college golf, and Ford's latest victory may go a long way in ensuring his name appears on the trophy next month when the winner is announced.
