College football's top Week 5 performers: J.T. Barrett goes off for Ohio State

Records were broken and down-and-out teams rallied to secure some of the afternoon's best performances on the first Saturday of October.

Notre Dame finally broke out of its losing slump with a dominant performance over Syracuse, while Oklahoma State proved it deserves to be ranked again with a stout 49-31 victory over No. 22 Texas.

In these high-powered games were several star players who stuffed box scores. Here are the afternoon's best performances:

J.T. Barrett, Ohio State, QB

It was a record afternoon for J.T. Barrett, whose 58th career touchdown pass overtook Ohio State great Bobby Hoying for the most touchdown passes in school history.
