A week after struggling with Troy, Clemson made sure to be awake and alert from the beginning of its game with South Carolina State.

The Tigers ran out to a 45-0 lead at halftime, with a little assist from South Carolina State's kickoff return man, and the two sides came to an agreement that there was no need to play a full 30-minute second half. Instead of playing with a running clock, Clemson and South Carolina State agreed to play two 12-minute quarters.
