Clemson 37, Oklahoma 17: No. 1 Clemson Advances to National Championship Game

Top-seeded Clemson, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson, defeated fourth-seeded Oklahoma, 37-17, on Thursday in the first College Football Playoff semifinal, the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Clemson will play in the national championship game on Jan. 11 against the winner of the second semifinal between second-seeded Alabama and third-seeded Michigan State.

Watson completed 16 of 30 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown and ran for 145 yards on 23 carries and another score for the 14-0 Tigers.

Oklahoma’s star quarterback, Baker Mayfield, completed 26 of 41 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown for the Sooners, who finished their season 11-2.
