C.J. Stroud is taking on a larger leadership role with the Houston Texans as he enters his second season in the NFL.
Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik has been impressed with Stroud's engagement in team meetings throughout training camp.
"He has no fear in asking the room a question, making a point to the room on specific plays or maybe having a message for practice," Slowik said, per ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime. "He's been a lot more vocal in meetings, which is great. That's what you want your quarterback to be."
The 22-year-old is coming off an incredible rookie year, leading Houston to a surprise appearance in the divisional round of the playoffs after finishing the regular season with a 10-7 record.
