The emotion from Michigan State’s 22-play drive that led to a 16-13 loss at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis pops up from time to time. He addressed that feeling at Big Ten Media Day on July 26 with a deep Tennessee drawl that overpowered that description.
“That’s tough,” Beathard said. “When they score like that with no time on the clock, that’s sports. There are going to be games like that, but I would be lying if I said sometimes it didn’t hurt.
