Chris Matthews Waived by Seahawks: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

The Seattle Seahawks reportedly waived wide receiver Chris Matthews on Tuesday after he notched only four catches on eight targets for 54 yards in nine games this season.

Mike Garafolo of FoxSports.com initially reported the news, and ESPNSeattle.com's Brady Henderson provided confirmation. In Super Bowl XLIX, Matthews burst onto the scene with four receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots.

The addition of star tight end Jimmy Graham and the emergence of rookie wideout Tyler Lockett hindered Matthews' ability to make an impact thereafter.
