Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah retiring due to concussions

Husain Abdullah, 30, is calling it quits after spending seven seasons in the NFL.

He doesn't have the name recognition as a lot of players, but his reasoning for retirement is starting to become a trend. In a post to his Instagram account, Abdullah explains that head injuries played a major role in his verdict.

After 7 years in the NFL, I am retiring. I would like to thank the Minnesota Vikings for giving me an opportunity to make the team after going undrafted in 2008. I experienced a great deal of growth both as a football player and as a person during my 4 years in Minnesota.
