Martin Truex Jr. established himself as a serious championship contender — if not the early favorite — by winning two of the first three Chase races.
And he may not be done yet. Truex won earlier this year at the next track on the schedule and led 172 laps at the one after that.
But he has plenty of competition to make it to the championship race at Homestead Nov. 20.
The 16-driver field has been reduced to 12 and nearly all of them should be considered serious threats. The four drivers eliminated after Round 1 were all drivers on the bubble entering the Chase, so their chances to advance were slim.
