Chase Elliott will have a driver on standby today at Texas Motor Speedway as he is battling flu-like symptoms.
Hendrick Motorsports confirmed earlier today that Justin Allgaier will be on standby for the rookie driver.

Elliott made the Chase for the Sprint Cup field this season, but has been eliminated from title contention. Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway is the second race of the Round of 8, with next week’s race at Phoenix International Raceway being the elimination race in the format.
