Carmelo Anthony spearheaded a town hall meeting Monday to follow up on his call to athletes at the ESPY Awards to help curb the violence that has dominated headlines recently.
Earlier this month, Anthony penned a post titled "It's Time to Step Up and Take Charge," and it was a message that was emulated at the Los Angeles youth center where the meeting was held, according to The Associated Press.
The two-hour meeting featured basketball stars, community leaders and police officers who spoke with teenagers and young adults about the importance of respect, communication and safety.
