Carl Lewis slammed U.S. men's track — now he hopes that helped

RIO DE JANIERO – Carl Lewis was having trouble with the name. He was running through tip-of-the-tongue options, but couldn’t quite come up with it. He was sitting back at Praca XV here, at a Nike pop-up location, in running pants and a windbreaker, still looking like he could knock out a 28-foot leap if asked.

“Long jumper,” he said. “From Arkansas. I’ve seen him. I am a college coach, man, I should know this!”
