Canelo Alvarez's next fight will be against the WBO super welterweight champion Liam Smith on Sept. 17 on HBO PPV.
The venue for the fight has not been announced, but it is expected to take place in either Las Vegas or Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium, according to ESPN's Dan Rafael.
"I am very pleased to announce my next fight against Liam Smith, a tremendous fighter with real knockout power, and the WBO Super-Welterweight world title owner," said Alvarez in a statement.
