Canelo Alvarez to take on Callum Smith in December

Boxing star Canelo Alvarez is officially headed back to the ring.

Alvarez is set to take on British boxer Callum Smith on Dec. 19, he announced on Instagram. The fight will be broadcast on DAZN, though no location has officially been determined.

Alvarez boasts an impressive 53-1-2 overall record in his career. He last stepped into the ring in November 2019, when he knocked out Sergey Kovalev in Las Vegas.

Alvarez was released from his deal with Golden Boy and DAZN earlier this month after months of legal dispute regarding what was initially the richest deal in sports.
