Canelo Alvarez dominated Liam Smith on Saturday night in front of 50,000-plus people at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Alvarez took the WBO super welterweight title with a TKO finish in the ninth round off of a brutal left to the body that crumpled Smith and sent him to the canvas. After the fight, Alvarez noted that he had injured his right hand during the second round and it slowed him down in his pursuit of the knockout finish.
