INDIANAPOLIS — What we learned from Butler’s 85-78 escape of Seton Hall at Hinkle Fieldhouse, led by guard Kellen Dunham’s 22 points and Roosevelt Jones’ 20. The victory improved the Bulldogs to 20-9 (9-8 Big East) and dropped the Hall to 21-8 (11-6).
1. Butler is an NCAA Tournament team. The Bulldogs aren’t there yet. They misspent too much of the season trying to solidify an identity, a formula, but committing to Jones as the primary point guard has helped to stabilize a defense that had been too pliable.

Butler’s resume still has some minor issues: only a single top-25 win, that over Purdue back in December.
