The Chicago Bulls announced on Tuesday that they have hired former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Donovan and the Thunder parted ways on Sept. 9 following Oklahoma City’s first-round playoff exit to the Houston Rockets. Donovan coached the Thunder for five seasons, and the two sides parted rather than work on a contract extension after his previous deal expired.
The Thunder made the playoffs in each of Donovan’s seasons in Oklahoma City, but are now engaged in a rebuild after Donovan inherited a team in 2015 featuring Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
