Bulls fire GM Gar Forman after 22 years with team

The Chicago Bulls have fired longtime general manager Gar Forman, the team announced on Monday.

“After 22 years with the Chicago Bulls, Gar Forman was relieved of his duties as General Manager and will not be involved in the Basketball Operations Department,” the statement read.

Forman joined the Bulls as a scout in 1998. Six years later he was named director of player personnel, and and in 2009 he ascended to general manager. Over the 10 seasons Forman was GM, the Bulls made the playoffs seven times.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to work for the Chicago Bulls for more than two decades,” Forman said in the statement.
