University of Buffalo defensive end Solomon Jackson died Monday night following an extended hospital stay. He suffered a medical emergency during an on-campus workout last week.
He was 20-years old, according to the school's athletics website.

“Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Solomon’s family as together we mourn his tragic and untimely death,” athletics director Allen Greene said in a statement.
Jackson began his career at Buffalo as a linebacker before making the switch to defensive end last season.
