The Milwaukee Bucks are hiring longtime NBA coach Doc Rivers, league sources said Wednesday, one day after the team fired first-year coach Adrian Griffin.
Rivers, 62, began serving as an informal consultant to Griffin in December at the behest of the Bucks.
Rivers won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, has 24 seasons of NBA head-coaching experience with the Orlando Magic, Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and has not had a losing year since 2007. His streak is the fourth best in league history behind Basketball Hall of Famers Gregg Popovich, Phil Jackson and Pat Riley.
