Hall of Famer Bruce Smith says life in retirement is not easy. In fact, it's quite uncomfortable.
"There's not a day that goes by that I'm not in pain," Smith told The Buffalo News on Monday. "Multiple joints and things that I experience on a daily basis. It can be very frustrating sometimes and painful, but I'm very blessed.”
The former Bills great was speaking Monday at Jim Kelly's annual golf event. Smith, 52, retired in 2003 after nearly two decades in the NFL and says he is thankful for what football has provided.
Still, the pain is constant and his memory is starting fade.
