The Buffalo Bills will honor the NFL's all-time sacks leader prior to their Week 2 home opener against the New York Jets by retiring Bruce Smith's No. 78, the team announced Wednesday:

He was named to the Pro Bowl 11 times, twice won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
