Broncos' Brandon Marshall loses sponsorship after anthem kneel

The Air Academy Federal Credit Union has terminated its sponsorship deal with Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall after he knelt during the national anthem before Thursday's game against the Panthers.

The organization said while Marshall has every right to kneel during the anthem, "his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership."

Marshall followed the lead of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, his former college teammate at Nevada, who Marshall called a "patriot."

Kaepernick began the trend during the preseason to bring up the issue of racism in the United States and said he was not going "to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.
