British Open Round 2 leaderboard, scores: Shane Lowry leads after second round 69 with projected cut line sitting around +6

Shane Lowry is 36 holes in to the 2024 British Open and eyeing a second Claret Jug, with a clubhouse lead of 7-under for the tournament. He bounced back from a double bogey on the 11th hole with a birdie-par-birdie finish to shoot 69 on the day, and earn himself a late tee time on Moving Day.

After their wild battle in North Carolina, neither Bryson DeChambeau nor Rory McIlroy started their week in Scotland well. DeChambeau opened with a 5-over 76, and McIlroy finished with a 7-over 78. They're both going to have to make a run on Friday in order to make the cut, something McIlroy hasn't missed at the British Open since 2019.
