Bristol race rained out, postponed until Sunday

BRISTOL, Tenn. — NASCAR was stubborn Saturday night. It tried to avoid the inevitable, but failed: The Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway was rained out and postponed until Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Busch was leading the pack, followed by Chase Eliiott and Ryan Blaney, when that final red flag was waved due to rain. Before Busch broke away, the lead bounced back and forth between Elliott and Denny Hamlin.

The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race will pick up Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Briston, but there is an 80 percent chance of rain and a 65 percent at racetime.
