Brewers minor leaguer hospitalized after pitch hits him in face

Brewers minor league outfielder Rymer Liriano was taken to a Phoenix-area hospital Sunday after being hit in the face by a pitch during a spring training game.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Liriano was hit in the face by a pitch from the Dodgers' Matt West during an eighth-inning at-bat. Trainers attended to Liriano on the field and immobilized him on a stretcher. He was transported from the field on a cart.

The Journal-Sentinel reported that Liriano's left eye was swollen shut and that he had blood around his nose.
