SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Here he is again, so here we go again.
For the third time this year, Dustin Johnson is back on top in the early going of a major championship, shooting 6-under 66 to take a two-shot lead after morning play in the first round of the PGA Championship.
Two months ago, Johnson began the U.S. Open with a 65. Last month, he started the British Open with another 65. And now, at the final major of the year, a 66.
If there’s some kind of secret to this, a hidden, deeper meaning, don’t expect to hear it from Johnson, who admitted he’s “just chilling” here this week.
