Braves, Marlins make history in game at Fort Bragg military base

The Braves and Marlins helped make history Sunday night, but both teams were just afterthoughts in the historic event.

The two teams played the finale of their three-game series at Fort Bragg Field, a new 12,500-seat facility at the U.S. military installation by the same name in Fayetteville, N.C.

It's the first professional sports contest ever played at a U.S. military base, and the first MLB game ever held in the state of North Carolina. The game will be televised on ESPN Sunday night, and is being seen by U.S. military personnel around the world on the eve of Independence Day.
