Braves' Dansby Swanson doesn't shy from spotlight that comes with top-prospect status

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The line at Blue Wahoos Stadium is dozens of people deep. Baseball fans wait for an autograph from and a picture with Dansby Swanson.

Like he does at every other baseball stadium he visits, the No. 1 pick in the 2015 MLB Draft signs for each person, most of whom use the opportunity to take a selfie with the Mississippi Braves shortstop. Swanson obliges nearly every request. He doesn’t have to, but he wants to.

"Sometimes it can be challenging, because obviously you don’t have a good game every day, but it’s something that helps influence and impact people’s lives and I think that’s important," Swanson told Omnisport following a game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
