Brad Ausmus admits he's on hot seat with free-falling Tigers

The Detroit Tigers' six-game losing streak is making things uncomfortable for manager Brad Ausmus.

After Sunday's 8-3 defeat against the Rangers at Comerica Park, Ausmus acknowledged he's in the "crosshairs."

Detroit goes on the road this week to face the Nationals (19-12) and Orioles (18-12). The Tigers entered the season with playoff expectations but have dropped to fourth in the AL Central, seven games behind the White Sox.

“I understand that when you have a payroll like ours, the manager’s the guy that’s in the crosshairs,” Ausmus told reporters Sunday.
