The road for Kell Brook to face Gennady Golovkin is par for the course in boxing. Fighter A wants to face Fighter B, but Fighter B doesn't want the fight for reasons that make you scratch your head.
Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) wants to fight top contenders and hold all the titles at 160 pounds. He was to face Canelo Alvarez, but Alvarez promoter Oscar de la Hoya didn't want to put his meal ticket in a position of failure. Golovkin-Alvarez is now scheduled for next September.
Golovkin was turned down by WBO middleweight champ Billie Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr.
