After three long years, the Boston Marathon has finally returned to its traditional spot in all its springtime and Patriots’ Day greatness.
More than 30,000 runners will take their place at the starting line in Hopkinton, Mass., on Monday morning and set out to conquer the notoriously daring and hilly course of the world’s oldest annual marathon, winding their way through eight municipalities while hundreds of thousands of fans cheer them on to that famed finish line in Boston that has brought runners to tears for decades.
Until the pandemic, the Boston Marathon was held April of every year since 1897.
