Louisville coach Bobby Petrino started politicking after the Cardinals improved to 8-1 and continued in their efforts to get in the College Football Playoff. Petrino does not embrace the concept of blowing out his next three opponents in order to impress the committee, citing “sportsmanship” as a reason.

“Maybe looking back at it, in Florida State, we should have kept all the starters in and scored 80 points and did that,” Petrino told ESPN.
