Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians took place on Friday night. Thanks to the kindness of a Toronto fan, a young Cleveland fan wounded in a recent shooting was in attendance.

Here are some finer details:

After reading Hoynes' story about the fund, the woman contacted the Indians to offer up her tickets. The Indians then reached out to the family of Saed Abdeldayem, the 4-year-old boy shot in the foot Wednesday night at a barbershop on Cleveland's West Side, during what police say was likely a botched robbery by three teens.
