Alex Avila is slashing .311/.431/.613 in 144 plate appearances this season. His nine home runs and 25 RBI are the most he’s posted since 2014. He platoons at both catcher and first base, but if you can catch him on a day when he’s playing, Avila has been one of the better offensive catchers in the league.
