Bengals vs. Steelers: 14 incidents that have inflamed AFC North rivalry

On Oct. 10, 1983, the Steelers' Keith Gary flung Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson to the turf in a Steelers victory on "Monday Night Football."

Two days later, Bengals owner Paul Brown sounded off.

"We were fortunate it was on national TV," Brown said Tuesday,” Brown told reporters. “Maybe now it won’t be repeated.”

Well ... something similar happened to Anderson almost a decade earlier. On Nov. 10, 1974, Pittsburgh safety Glen Edwards clotheslined the Cincinnati quarterback, then defended the hit later that week.

“I don’t think I owe anybody an apology,” Edwards was quoted as saying.
