Los Angeles (AFP) - Cincinnati Bengals defender Adam "Pac Man" Jones said Wednesday he will appeal a $35,000 fine handed down by the NFL for banging an opponent's head against his own helmet.

"Too much," said Jones, who escaped a suspension but drew the fine for hitting a defenseless player.

The incident came in Cincinnati's season-opening 33-13 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, when Jones pulled the helmet off Amari Cooper as the Raiders receiver lay sprawled on the ground -- then banged the rookie's head on it.
