Spencer Te'o, the co-host of Big Ben's podcast—Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger—started the speculation surrounding Pickens’ future, stating that the acquisition and extension of Metcalf could “mean the end of George.”
Roethlisberger followed it up with a relatively similar take, alluding to the idea that the Pittsburgh Steelers may attempt to regain lost draft capital by trading Pickens:
"I thought so too—and I wouldn't say that's necessarily over yet," Big Ben agreed.
