There won't be a Triple Crown on the line at Belmont Park in three weeks, but the defacto 3-year-old horse racing championship could be decided — if Nyquist's connections let the colt run in the field for the Belmont Stakes.
Preakness winner Exaggerator will run in the Belmont on June 11, trainer Keith Desormeaux confirmed. He'll ship straight to Elmont, N.Y., from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore instead of returning to Southern California in between races. Nyquist's trainer, Doug O'Neill, said it's a possibility the Kentucky Derby winner will race for the third jewel of the Triple Crown in a rubber match against Exaggerator.
