The Copa America, the world’s oldest international continental football competition, is under way. The tournament is taking place in the United States for the first time and this year marks the event’s centennial tournament, a special “Copa América Centenario” edition that will play out at stadiums from coast to coast from June 3 through June 26.
Thirty-two matches will be played to decide a champion. The winner will be crowned June 26, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The championship trophy that will be hoisted that day was created with the centennial in mind.
