defensive coordinator is retiring, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
The 60-year-old cancer survivor has been in the NFL since 2001, when he joined the Cleveland Browns as their secondary coach. He spent two seasons as defensive coordinator with the Bears after a six-year stint as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2012-17.
Pagano went 53-43 with Indianapolis. The Bears defense finished the 2020 season ranked 11th in yards allowed per game (344.9).
