Baylor is expected to announce Thursday that football coach Art Briles has been fired, according to 1660 ESPN, the self-described "flagship station of Baylor athletics."

ESPN confirmed the initial report and the timing of the announcement and cited an unidentified source as saying that Briles informed Bears players via text that he had been fired.
