Austin Nichols has been dismissed from the Virginia basketball team, according to a release from the school. He played just one game with the Cavaliers.
The redshirt junior power forward was already suspended for the Cavaliers' two preseason scrimmages, and the season-opener at UNC Greensboro on Nov. 11.

The school gave no specific reason given pertaining to Nichols' release.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of this program and Austin has lost that privilege,” Virginia coach Tony Bennett said in the release.
