Austin Dillon must have driven with a rabbit's foot in his pocket on Sunday.
Needing two drivers ahead of him in the standings to have bad days, Dillon saw just that happen. And so Dillon made the Round of 12 in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
He finished eighth at Dover on Sunday, chasing race winner Martin Truex Jr. but making sure his Chase challengers were well in his draft.
Dillon finished 11 points ahead of 13th place.
"I don't care how many it was; whether it was 12 or 11 or 2 or 1, as long as we're in the next round," he said.
