Sprint Cup qualifying at Auto Club Speedway began with NASCAR officials trying to figure out what to do about an invasion of bees in the flag area.
It ended with Austin Dillon claiming the pole for Sunday's Auto Club 400. It's the Richard Childress Racing driver's second career pole.

“To do it at a driver’s race track like Fontana means a lot to me,” Dillon told Fox Sports. “I knew going into that third session if I didn’t make mistakes I’d have a shot.
