Arizona signed Australian rules football player Joel Wilkinson in February, but his time with the team was short-lived.
The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Wilkinson was one of four players released as they clear roster space for their rookie class.

The 24-year-old Wilkinson retired as an Australian rules player to pursue an NFL career as a cornerback. He played for the Gold Coast Suns from 2011-13, and then played in 27 games for the Northern Blues with five goals.
