Auburn baseball swept LSU for the first time since 1988 over the weekend, due in part to the efforts of Auburn right-hander Samuel Dutton.
Against his former team, Dutton struck out seven batters while allowing three hits and zero runs over 6.0 innings of work in No. 12 Auburn's 8-4 series-opening win over No. 3 LSU on Friday night. His performance, which paved the way for the home-standing Tigers to sweep their first top-five opponent since 2017, earns him a spot on D1Baseball's top performers list for week nine. Dutton joins several key pitchers, including Jack Anker of Fresno State, Wilson Perkins of Davidson, and Harrison Bodendorf of Oklahoma State on this week's list.
