Attorney for ex-NFL players wants to bankrupt helmet manufacturer

An attorney representing about 1,000 former NFL players wants to put former league-sanctioned helmet maker Riddell out of business.

Jason Luckasevic told the New York Post he has damning evidence that Riddell, the NFL's helmet manufacturer from 1989-2014, and the NFL knew more about the risks of concussions than has previously been disclosed.

“We are going to put an end to that helmet maker,” Luckasevic said.

The NFL settled a class-action concussion lawsuit with 20,000 former players for $1 billion last year, but the settlement is still pending approval.
