It's been three weeks since quarterback Colin Kaepernick turned the sports world inside out by declining to stand for the national anthem/flag of a nation that "oppresses black people and people of color."
Since then, Kaepernick has been almost uniformly praised by the sports media, which has compared the the 28-year old 49ers quarterback to sports pioneers such as Muhammad Ali, Dr. John Carlos, Tommie Smith and Jim Brown. Instead, most of the vitriol has been aimed at sports figures who've criticized Kaepernick's protest as disrespectful and divisive, including ex-MLB manager Tony La La Russa, Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
